The five pre-approved designs

Already reviewed by the City. Ready to build.

Five accessory dwelling unit plans — from a compact 631 sq ft loft to a 1,064 sq ft flagship — each pre-approved by the City of Woodstock for structure, architecture, and zoning. Pick the shape that fits your lot, your budget, and the people you’re building for.

How to choose

  • Need step-free living? The single-level Cottage (no garage) and Bungalow (with garage) are the most accessible.
  • Tight on yard space? The Carriage and Overlook stack living space over the garage, so they need the least ground area.
  • Want the most home? The Homestead and Overlook are the largest — and cost the least per square foot.
  • Remember the size rule: a larger ADU needs a larger main home (about 40% of its floor area). See the rules →

Not sure which your lot supports? The eligibility tool reads your home’s size and shows only the plans you qualify for, with an instant price. And every plan can be customized — materials, windows, and interior layout — through our licensed design professional.
